Welly Well is widely recognized as one of Holland’s most versatile or open format (open-format) DJs, backed by decades of experience and an extensive track record behind the decks. Long before the term eclectic was born, he was already dazzling crowds with his refreshing blends of styles. From hip-hop and smooth R&B to house, timeless classics and the latest club sounds, Welly Well effortlessly connects genres and generations. What sets him apart is his rare ability to read a room and adapt in real time, whether it’s a packed club night, an intimate venue or a large festival stage. Carefully selecting each record and blending styles with precision, he tells a different story every time, creating a dynamic musical journey that keeps the dancefloor locked in from start to finish.
Behind the name is Welly Ibrahim, a passionate music lover based in Amsterdam. His obsession with music started early, recording the hottest tracks from the radio onto cassette tapes. In 2002 he impulsively bought two Technics SL1200 turntables, a decision that changed everything. Surrounded by crates of records across a wide range of styles, he dedicated himself to mastering the craft of DJing, refining his selection, mixing and beat matching skills while developing his own distinctive style.
Bookings soon followed at renowned Dutch venues such as Paradiso, Jimmy Woo, Escape, Bret, Bitterzoet and A’DAM Tower. Over the years Welly Well has shared stages with internationally acclaimed artists including Hardwell, Fedde Le Grand, Erick Morillo, Don Diablo, Gregor Salto, Erick E, Real El Canario, Bassjackers and Chuckie. He has also appeared at leading Dutch festivals including Zwarte Cross, Mysteryland, Appelpop and Amsterdam Dance Event, while bringing his sound to clubs and events across Europe and Asia.
Beyond the DJ booth, Welly Well continues to contribute to the culture. He is the founder of Amsterdam Audio Collective, an agency focused on artist development, management, bookings and events, where he supports and mentors the next generation of artists. Through his vinyl only concept Zwarte Liefde, he celebrates the roots of DJ culture and keeps the craft of vinyl DJing alive. With MOFO, Move of Movin’ Forward, he highlights the evolution of DJ culture, from vinyl roots to modern digital tools, where visuals, mashups and genre-blending sounds drive the culture forward.
With decades of experience and an instinctive feel for the dancefloor, Welly Well doesn’t just play records, he creates moments that move crowds and connect cultures.
